How to prepare for photoshoot?
These days people do much more photos than ever.
1.8 billion photos are uploaded to the Internet every single day.
Can you imagine how many selfies are taken every day?
However, when it’s time to choose photos for printing or sharing with family and friends, there is nothing to choose.
Yes, we are all in there.
I will do my best to capture you being in love with each other
Let’s get ready:
The idea & message of the photoshoot.
What emotions or thoughts do you want to express through photos? We can’t use words, we have only light & shadow, clothes & nakedness, gestures & touches that can help us do it.
Location & Activity
What is special about that location? Is that your fav place which you visit at the weekends, and you know it like your five fingers? Or is it a new one?
Photography is literally freezing the moment of action. So it’s better to have an action going on in the frame. If you are that kind of couples who is ready to run, jump, roll - perfect! But still I recommend you to plan some small activity during the shoot, so you’ll be in the moment of doing smth naturally and I’ll be somewhere around capturing you from different angles :)
You might plan a picnic on the beach, lunch at home, maybe you can ride a bike together or rent an old car and take a ride on the scenic views. There are no specific rules, do whatever you want, and keep it cool and relax.
Think about a photographer as a person who you gave the permission to be around you for a while.
Outfit
You should not only like the clothes that choose for the shoot but also feel comfortable in it. Say no to the “almost your size” shoes, beautiful jeans in which you can only stand and so on :)
Please wear clothes accordingly to the weather.
The most important thing - dress the way you want to, casual or maybe new extravagant style, let yourself try something new and don’t be judgmental to yourself. Again, there are no specific requirements, the way you want to look during the shoot is totally up to you.
However, I do recommend to choose outfits that match each other. You won’t be ever wrong with white and pastel colors, natural fabrics and plain colors (no patterns).
Light
Light is the key tool to set the mood and create a gorgeous picture. What do you think is the best time for the shoot? The answer is Dusk or Dawn! The light is much softer in the morning and golden in the evening. The midday light can work, but not perfectly.
Many people get stressed during the shoot and feel nervous before because they don’t know what to expect what they are supposed to do. Hopefully, this article was helpful and now you feel more relaxed and less stressed about the whole process.
